Capturing, catalyzing, and re-using the hardest carbon emissions
Did you know that fossil fuel power plants aren’t the only large industrial CO2 emitters? To make all the cement and steel we need for buildings, housing, and equipment we use, a byproduct is CO2. We still need those materials, but (say it with us now): “we don’t need any more emissions!”.
You may have heard of “Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)” which are solutions that attempt to stop CO2 from entering the atmosphere, and then just…put it somewhere…usually underground. But what if we could not only capture it affordably, to keep it out of the sky, but then also use it to improve our everyday products?
Say hello to SkyNano.

Catalyzing and synthesizing
We ran our flagship sprint-style Brand Session with them to quickly synthesize a SkyNano Brand Strategy, which serves as the heart and soul of the brand. In just one week, we keyed into how this technology offers both relief and hope to SkyNano’s users and audience. Relief that there’s working tech to help capture emissions from hard-to-abate operations, and hope that the New Carbon Economy will be quite something with advanced carbon materials in the mix. These emotions made their way into the Visual moods during the following one-week Design Sprint.
The color choices evoke an inspiring, approachable, and innovative feeling to a sector that’s usually pretty bland. The graphic elements all play with the idea of catalyzing and transforming CO2 into various other practical uses, and keeping things dynamic and innovative. We also kept nods to the original logo through the lines and hexagon shape of the ever dependable Carbon atom. We brought all these together into their Brand Guide, Website, and Deck Template to elevate SkyNano’s work as we all race to halve global emissions by 2030. Thanks to next-level SkyNano, the future sky is clean and clear and…bright!
