Developed by the team who discovered dynamic stability at Harvard, Adden Energy’s dynamically-stable battery will make electric vehicles accessible to everyone. Moving at light speed, the team at Adden had been racking up patents and press for their game-changing battery. But they still had a starter website. The technology page was hard to understand if you weren’t a scientist. And, the website’s visual branding didn’t reflect the forward-thinking company Adden is.
Overall, the Adden team had an astounding innovation, with the authority and funding to back it up, so we were pumped to support this amazing company with our Seed Branding service to showcase them in a better light.
We worked with Adden’s co-founders collaboratively to craft messaging and a visual identity that would tell Adden’s compelling story. Our Content Strategist sifted through Adden’s existing materials and ran meetings with the Adden team to identify the core messaging components for the brand, including the core concept. Our Creative Director put together mood boards with initial colors, typography, photography, and logo directions to create a modern, clean look for the website that the Adden team could stand behind when they shared it with investors.
Adden Energy launched their new website and brand to acclaim. The logo was designed to echo the shape and charging bars of a battery with a forward-slant to indicate Adden’s forward momentum. At the top of the website, the hero video is an ode to speed. It is both literal—showing speeding cars—and also nods to the lightning-quick pace this tech is being developed at and how fast the battery charges. Finally, an animation helps visitors to the website understand how the Adden battery’s novel self-healing property will make EVs accessible to everyone in the near future.
